A Road Condition Survey records the state of the roads and footways around a site before construction begins — a photographic and written record of existing defects, agreed with the highway authority. It protects developers and contractors from claims for damage that existed before their vehicles arrived, and gives the council a clear baseline for any reinstatement discussions once works complete. Highway authorities often request one alongside a Construction Logistics Plan (CLP) or a Construction Traffic Management Plan (CTMP).
At Liongate, we carry out Road Condition Surveys with a team of expert consultants. They efficiently record and report the pre-construction condition of the surrounding highway and skillfully handle the related council requirements. PROJECT EXPERIENCE
In Waltham Forest, our team at Liongate carried out the Road Condition Survey for the 84 Markhouse Road scheme with Sofia Properties — the same development where we delivered the Construction Logistics Plan — recording the condition of the surrounding roads before works began.
Pairing the survey with the logistics plan meant the routes construction vehicles would actually use were documented from day one, protecting the developer throughout the build.
