A Transport Statement sets out the transport impacts of a proposed development at planning application stage — trip generation, site access, parking provision and sustainable travel options. Councils request one for schemes whose impacts are real but not large enough to need a full Transport Assessment. Parking surveys, including parking stress surveys using recognised methodologies such as the Lambeth methodology, provide the on-street evidence councils expect to see behind the parking case. Transport conditions often continue after permission through a Travel Plan or a Delivery and Servicing Plan (DSP).
